Airport

Vancouver International Airport is approximately 40 minutes from the Convention Centre by car. The airport code for Vancouver International Airport is YVR.

Getting To & From the Airport

Travel between the airport and the Vancouver Convention Centre is simple with these convenient transportation options.

Taxi

If you’re taking a taxi from the airport to your hotel after arriving at YVR, use one of the taxi stands located on Level 2. Taxis operating from the airport are licensed, and will use a zoned fare rate that will depend on your destination.

Public Transit

The SkyTrain’s Canada Line provides rapid rail service linking YVR to downtown Vancouver. Trains leave the airport station approximately every seven minutes during most times of the day. There are 16 stops along the line, with downtown Vancouver stops including Yaletown, Vancouver City Centre and Waterfront—the terminus for the line.

The Waterfront station is the closest station to the Vancouver Convention Centre West Building – it is about a 10 minute walk. The trip from YVR to downtown Vancouver takes only 26 minutes on a two zone fare of $3.75 CAD, plus the $5.00 CAD Canada Line YVR AddFare. The YVR AddFare is waived if you have a pre-purchased fare, e.g. a day pass, monthly pass or a Fare Saver ticket. Check the TransLink website for maps, schedules and fare information.

Getting Around Vancouver

Getting around Vancouver is simple with these convenient transportation options.

Buses

In downtown Vancouver, many buses will transit through Granville Street, Burrard Street and Georgia Street.

Skytrain

The Waterfront station is serviced by the Canada Line and the Expo Line. Trains run every two to five minutes. Take one of these trains to visit Science World, get to Pacific Central Station, visit the Commercial Drive neighbourhood, or head out to Metrotown shopping mall in Burnaby or the River Market at New Westminster Quay.

SeaBus

SeaBus is a unique, passenger-only, wheelchair accessible ferry service that connects downtown Vancouver’s Waterfront Station to Lonsdale Quay on the North Shore. The scenic crossing of Burrard Inlet takes 12 minutes and offers a breathtaking perspective of the city, sea and mountains. It departs every 15 minutes during the day, and every 30 minutes at night, with the final sailing leaving Lonsdale Quay at 1:00 a.m. (11:00 p.m. on Sundays).
