Alla Goldner

Director, Technology, Strategy & Standardization, Amdocs

A member of ONAP’s Technical Steering Committee (TSC) and the chair of ONAP’s Use-case Subcommittee, Alla Goldner also leads all ONAP activities and internal decision-making at Amdocs – a $3.7 billion revenue (2017), 25,000-employee company providing software and services to the world’s leading communications and media businesses. Her responsibilities include defining and implementing Amdocs’ ONAP strategy, working directly with ONAP members from service providers, vendors and partners, and playing a key role in Amdocs’ TSC. Her current focus is NFV and SDN network evolution, and in particular, the standardization and open-source domains. With over 20 years of experience in developing technology strategy and system architecture at global companies including Alcatel, Motorola, and Intel, she also has extensive experience in leading standardization efforts in 3GPP, IETF, ETSI NFV, BBF, ETSI and MEC – examples of standards she has created include TDF (Traffic Detection Function) into 3GPP Packet Core Architecture, Network Congestion handling into 3GPP architecture, and also traffic-steering architecture. A key member of the group-defined service-functional chaining in IETF, she is also a leading contributor of multiple work items in the areas of 5G, Policy Control and Charging, NFV, SDN, control-user plane split and congestion management. She has also served on the program committees of several conferences including IEEE ICC and IEEE CSCN, and has multiple patents to her name. Alla holds an MSc in Technology Management from NYU and a BSc in Mathematics and Computer Science from Tel Aviv University.

Arpit Joshipura

General Manager of Networking, The Linux Foundation

Arpit Joshipura brings over 25 years of networking expertise and vision to The Linux Foundation, with technical depth and business breadth. He has instrumented and led major industry disruptions across enterprises, carriers, and cloud architectures, including IP, broadband, optical, mobile, routing, switching, L4-7, cloud, disaggregation, SDN/NFV, and open networking, and has been an early evangelist for open source. Arpit has served as CMO/VP in startups and larger enterprises, including Prevoty, Dell/Force10, Ericsson/Redback, ONI/CIENA, and BNR/Nortel, leading strategy, product management, marketing, engineering, and technology standards functions.

Axel Clauberg

Vice President, Aggregation, Transport, IP (TI-ATI) & Infrastructure Cloud Architecture, Deutsche Telekom AG

Axel Clauberg joined Deutsche Telekom AG in September 2011. Within the Strategy & Technology Innovation team, Axel is responsible for Deutsche Telekom's IP End to End and Infrastructure Cloud architecture. Axel has more than 35 years of experience in the IT and Telecommunications industry. Before joining DT, he had various international leadership roles at Cisco Systems. Axel represents Deutsche Telekom in the Linux Foundation Networking fund governance board and the Telecom Infrastructure Project (TIP) board and is currently chairing the TIP board.

Bill Ren

Chief Open Source Liaison Officer, ICT Infrastructure Open Source GM, Huawei

Bill Ren holds an EMBA and Master Degree from Peking University, and a CS Bachelor Degree from Shanghai Jiaotong University. Since joining Huawei in 2000，Bill served as an Intelligent Network Research and Development Engineer, Product Manager and Architect of India Branch, General Manager of Business OSS, Vice President of Network OSS, Vice President of Network OSS Strategy and MKT, Vice President of Solution MKTG, etc. We have accumulated rich experience in R&D, marketing and product management. Mr. Ren Xudong（Bill Ren）serves as the General Manager of ICT Infrastructure Open Source Business at Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd, and as the chief liaison officer of Huawei. In this role，he is fully responsible for the implementation of open source solutions for operators/enterprises in the network automation industry, using open source means to build industrial ecology, expand industrial space, build a healthy and harmonious industrial environment, and support the success of the company's business.

Catherine Lefèvre

Assistant Vice President, Network & Shared Services, AT&T

Catherine Lefèvre is an AVP in AT&T’s Network Cloud & Infrastructure organization (AT&T Labs). Located in Belgium, Catherine is responsible for the software delivery and scaling of the Rules-Based Process Automation Platform, the Service Provisioning Platform (Voice, D2 Network/Service Elements, etc.) and ECOMP (Application Controller, Policy Framework and Control Loop Automation) - the platform that powers AT&T’s software-centric network. She is also focusing on transforming BSS/OSS systems to Microservice Architecture and achieving data powered close loop automation. She is a member of the AT&T “Virtual Network Function” Governance Board and is co-leading the open sourcing of the ECOMP Platform (ONAP). Catherine received a master’s degree in computer science as well as a qualified teaching degree in computer science in 1996 from the University Of Namur (FUNDP). She began her career in 1996, working with Alcatel as a software development engineer. She joined AT&T in 2013. During her time with AT&T, she has focused on developing its software-defined network. This includes working on software development best practices as well as early prototypes and proof of concepts of AT&T’s Domain 2.0 technology. She has also supported AT&T’s move from concept to scaled production development of the technology as well as integrating the DevOps Culture for increased collaboration between the development and operations teams. Catherine is part of AT&T’s EMEA Women’s Network, mentoring young women about careers in STEM She is an avid horse rider and photography enthusiast.  

Dr. Catherine Mulligan

Visiting Research Fellow, Centre for Cryptocurrency Research and Engineering, Imperial College London

Dr Cathy Mulligan is a Visiting Research Fellow at Imperial College Centre for Cryptocurrency Research and Engineering, a Senior Research Associate at UCL in Blockchain and a Fellow and Expert Member of the World Economic Forum’s Blockchain council. She has been active in researching blockchain since 2010. Prior to her academic career, Cathy gained 15 years’ international experience in the mobile telecommunications industry and is working extensively to apply blockchain in this space with several operators and SMEs. She has authored 7 books covering both the technology and economics of the mobile communications industries including SAE/EPC & M2M/IoT. Cathy also served as the Vice Chairman of the ETSI ISG on Context Information Management (IoT) during 2017. She has advised several governments regarding their blockchain and 5G strategies. She is co-author of the UK Government Office for Science Report “Beyond Blockchain”. She has remained active in mobile network research and provides a unique combination of technical and economic skills.

Dr. Junlan Feng

Chief Scientist, China Mobile Research Institute

Junlan Feng, Chief Scientist at China Mobile General Manager of AI and Intelligent Operation R&D Center. Dr. Feng has led R&D of China Mobile on artificial intelligence and big data since September 2013. She had been the architect of IBM Big Data from January 2013.1 to August 2013 and a principal researcher at AT&T Labs Research from August 2001 to January 2013. Dr. Feng received her Ph.D. on Speech Recognition in 2001 from Chinese Academy of Sciences. She is an IEEE senior member, an IEEE speech and language committee member and IEEE industry committee member. She is a reviewer for major data mining, speech, and natural language international conferences and journals. She has chaired and organized multiple conferences in these fields. Dr. Feng has over 50 professional publications and has been granted 33 U.S and international patents.

Dr. Paul Doany

Chief Executive Officer, Türk Telekom

Upon his graduation from the Department of Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Beirut American University in 1977, Dr. Paul Doany, the CEO of Türk Telekom, went on to hold a master’s degree in Digital Electronics and Communications Engineering in Bradford University, UK in 1978 and a PhD in Communications Engineering from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology in 1981. Having served as a senior lecturer for the Department of Electronics/Communications in Beirut American University, Mr. Doany then took office as a consultant for the telecommunications business over the course of 14 years. As part of this task, he served as a General Manager for Dar Consultants (based in London) and founded Telecom department as a General Manager/Partner at Dar Al Handasah Consultants (Shair&Partners) and boosted the company to grow in transportation and finance. Mr. Doany had served for the Saudi Oger Group for 12 years and taken office as the Founding CEO of Oger Telecommunications and the CEO of Türk Telekom for 5 years. During his tenure at the Saudi Oger Group, he led the acquisition of 55% share of Türk Telekom through privatization and the IPO to Istanbul Stock Exchange apart from the acquisition of IT companies and international wholesale operations (Pantel, rebranded as Türk Telekom International). In addition, he ran the acquisition and start-up operational process of Cell C in South Africa until it was launched. Dr. Paul Doany has focused on the Venture Capital of Informatics and Communication Technologies and run start-up phase investments in IT/Internet companies and renewable energy. Mr. Doany has been serving as the CEO of Türk Telekom since September 2016.

Emmanuel Lugagne Delpon

Chief Technology Officer, Orange Group Networks

Emmanuel Lugagne Delpon is the CTO of Orange Group Networks, since 2017. He joined France Telecom R & D (now Orange Labs) in 1993 as Research Engineer in semiconductor devices and quantum optics activity. In 1998 he joined the International Carrier Division and participated in the deployment of the International Backbone of Orange. In 2003 he joined Orange Mobile and was in charge of the Value Added Services and BSS IT systems. In 2014 he was appointed CIO of Orange Spain where he drove the deep transformation of IT. Emmanuel Lugagne Delpon is graduated from Ecole Normale Superieure, Paris (France), from the Ecole Nationale des Telecommunications, Paris (France), and holds a Ph.D. in quantum physics.

Fran Heeran

Head of Cloud & Automation, Vodafone Group

Fran Heeran is Head of Cloud & Automation at Vodafone Group. Fran is leading the strategy and architecture for the group-wide transformation to fully cloud enable Vodafone’s network, systems and applications. Fran has over 20 years’ experience in the software industry and has held senior technology and business leadership roles in globally renowned organizations including Alcatel-Lucent, Nokia and NEC. Fran has worked closely with some of the largest global service providers and has been a contributor to standards organisations and represents Vodafone on the board of the Linux Foundation Networking project. Prior to Vodafone, Fran was the Senior Vice President and General Manager at Netcracker , a division of NEC corporation where he led the SDN/NFV business unit. Fran was also Senior Vice President and General Manager and Alcatel-Lucent (and subsequently Nokia) where he led the Communications and Collaboration business as well as the charging and policy business. Fran has also held senior business, technology and strategy positions at Aepona (acquired by Intel) and Valista where he was CTO and Senior Vice President of Product Management.

Heather Kirksey

Vice President, Ecosystem & Community, The Linux Foundation

Heather Kirksey works with the community to advance the adoption and implementation of open source NFV platforms. Before joining The Linux Foundation, she led strategic technology alliances for MongoDB. Earlier in her career she held various leadership positions in the telecom industry, including running a partner program for CPE, doing solutions marketing for the IP division at Alcatel-Lucent, and working in business development and numerous standards activities. While at Broadband Forum she helped create and launch TR-069; served as BroadbandHome Technical Working Group Chair; served on the Board; and oversaw collaborative activities with ATIS, 3GPP, OSGi, ITU-T, OMA, IETF, Small Cell Forum, UPnP Forum, Home Gateway Initiative, and other groups. Heather received her master’s degree in English literature from the University of Texas, Austin.

Helen Chen

Principal Architect, Huawei

Helen Chen is a Principal Architect in the Global Technical Service BU at Huawei and PTL of ONAP Integration project. She has years of experience in networking/SDN/NFV, cloud computing, Artificial Intelligence (AI) / Machine Learning (ML), Video / Multimedia/AR/VR/MR as well as bringing new innovations from whiteboard to product delivery at Huawei, Cisco, Sourceforge, etc. She also has 7+ years of experience in the open source community with projects like ONAP, OPEN-O, OpenDaylight, and OpenSocial.

Jim Zemlin

Executive Director, The Linux Foundation

Jim's career spans three of the largest technology trends to rise over the last decade: mobile computing, cloud computing and open source software. Today, as executive director of The Linux Foundation, he uses this experience to accelerate innovation in technology through the use of open source and Linux. At The Linux Foundation, Jim works with the world’s largest technology companies, including IBM, Intel, Google, Samsung, Qualcomm, and others to help define the future of computing on the server, in the cloud, and on a variety of new mobile computing devices. His work at the vendor-neutral Linux Foundation gives him a unique and aggregate perspective on the global technology industry. Jim has been recognized for his insights on the changing economics of the technology industry. His writing has appeared in Businessweek, Wired, and other top technology journals, and he is a regular keynote speaker at industry events. He advises a variety of startups, including Splashtop, and sits on the boards of the Global Economic Symposium, Open Source For America, and Chinese Open Source Promotion Union.

Lingli Deng

Senior Project Manager, China Mobile

Lingli Deng is a Senior Project Manager at China Mobile Research Institute. She obtained her Doctor’s degree in Computer Application Technology from the Institute of Software, Chinese Academy of Sciences and joined China Mobile in 2009. She is a core member of the Novonet project which drives SDN/NFV strategy for China Mobile, and has been working on evaluation and introduction of data plane acceleration technology, running the Novonet Testing Lab and planning the SDN/NFV trial network for the company. She was the Vice Chair of the OPNFV Board of directors between 2106-2017. She is currently representing the company at LFN TAC and serving as the ONAP TSC Vice Chair.
